KAISERBACHTAL - A crowning excursion in summer and winter
The Kaiserbachtal in the nature reserve Kaisergebirge stretches from the Kirchdorf district of Griesenau to the Stripsenjoch, enclosed by the Wilden Kaiser to the east and the Feldberg and Zahmer Kaiser area to the north. Covering 9,260 hectares, the entire nature reserve in the northern limestone Alps offers a unique flora and fauna.
The Kaiserbachtal serves as the starting point for countless summit ascents, challenging climbing routes, and winter ski tours in the Kaisergebirge. The ridge hike from Stripsenjoch over Feldberg is rewarded with magnificent views during the hiking season.
During the summer months, the Schnackler adventure trail offers fun play stations for children, and the Latschenbrennerei Hofmann produces its high-quality larch oil here.
Summit names like Predigtstuhl, Fleischbank, or Totenkirchl testify that the Kaisergebirge can also pose dangers. The memorial chapel in Kaiserbachtal (built in 1984) commemorates the victims.
From Griesenau, a 5 km toll road leads to an altitude of 1,024 m, right in front of the impressive mountain massif of the Wilden Kaiser. It also opens up the bizarrely romantic mountain world to visitors arriving by car or bus.
